V.S.O.P.

Bonne route.

  1. Thank you so much for getting in touch about Charley. What is so remarkable in your blog is that we clearly shared much the same things despite not having contact with each other for such a long time. I too am a fan of MIles Davis, Chet Baker, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gallespie etc as well as Goddard, Woody Allen and Bresson. The crime novels as well, but must include Raymond Chandler. We clearly had much in common as well as the eventful life. I am so disappointed to have missed the reconnection. Thank you so very much for getting in touch through the blog. It would be nice a some point to find out a bit more - my email is edwardklein@btinternet.com
Thanks again Claude - all the best to you and yours. Edward

  2. Hi Edward,

Raymond Chandler, yes. I have read all his novels when I was bookseller in Montpellier, my birthplace. Even those written under strong rye intoxication, and others signed with a pseudonym that I have forgotten now !

Even if we were rather different, in the world of thoughts, Charles has often been my gleam in the mirror as I was myself his'. I miss him very much now for the Conversation, such a conversation where you need not to explain what you argue at length. So sad ! That's life !

    Take care.
    C.

    1. Hi Claude - Are you living in Paris - according to your profile, that is where you live. If you are still in the City, perhaps we could meet up. My wife Celia and I plan to be on Paris during the first week in June. Any chance of getting together? We do speak French. Perhaps you could email me and letme know - Edward

    2. Unfortunately we are "drowned" in oncology treatment for the months ahead and we cannot plan anything else than chemotherapy course and pain control.
Later on maybe. Depends on the mood of God.
